The soft glow of candles will light your way as you explore this historic property. Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with this picturesque look at a quiet winter’s night in colonial Pennsylvania. Watch a cooking demonstration, meet some Continental soldiers, and find out if the Belsnickel has deemed you naughty or nice! Timed tickets are required to tour the historic house.     Come to the park to create some festive holiday crafts to take home (or give as a gift). Participants can choose from a variety of craft projects including “Winsome Woodland Critters”, a centerpiece, wall-hanging, pine-cone wreath and more. We provide all the cones, nuts, pods needed to create your masterpiece from natural materials. NO previous crafting experience needed, our talented instructors can help you along the way. Bring a hot-glue gun, if you like (or borrow one of ours). Ages 12 to adult. Program fee of $ 10 per person. Spaces limited, pre-registration required.   3. Full Moon Hike and Campfire

    Come experience a hike under the full moon. This nearly two mile hike will be led by park ranger Dave. See some nocturnal animals and experience the starry sky. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking.   4. Trout in the Classroom

    Have you ever wanted to learn about the life cycle of a Rainbow Trout? Join us to observe the life cycle, learn about water quality and more! This program will take place from December until May. This month we will be preparing the tank for eggs that will be arriving in January! In May, once the trout are old enough, we will release them into Kepner Creek! This is an indoor program. Norristown Farm Park’s participation in the Trout in the Classroom program was made possible through a partnership between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited (PATU).   5. Waterfowl Watch

    Winter is coming, but fall migration is going strong. Grab your binoculars and join us to experience migration at the park. We will be searching for ducks, geese, swans and others at one of eastern Pennsylvania’s premier birding venues. We will travel by caravan to 3 different birding hotspots in the park.     Join us to decorate our Wildlife Christmas Tree! Learn about the good qualities of having a real Christmas tree and how we can help wildlife. Then create edible ornaments for our local wildlife, including bird seed pine cones, cranberry garland & more. Once our decorations are made we will decorate the tree! The following days, visit our page to see what stopped by for a snack. This will be an indoor/outdoor event, dress for the weather. *No peanut butter will be used, Crisco will be our binding agent* All ages; Free Limited space - registration required.
