Petition Objections – New Deadline Wednesday, March 15
By Executive Order, Governor Tom Wolf has allowed counties to extend their deadline to file objections to nomination petitions. Due to Montgomery County courts and offices being closed on Tuesday, March 14, the county is extending the deadline to file objections to petitions to Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Objections to petitions can be filed with the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas at the Montgomery County Prothonotary’s office until Wednesday, March 15 at 5:00pm.
Ballot Positioning – Drawing moved to Friday, March 17 (originally scheduled for March 15)
In addition, due to the inclement weather, counties were given the option of moving the date of the drawing for ballot positioning. Montgomery County will hold its drawing on Friday, March 17th at 10:00am in the Board of County Commissioners conference room. The drawing for ballot position is held to determine the order in which the names will appear on the ballot.
