The Tom Ward Scholarship was presented by SuperKIDS of Montgomery County, Inc. to Jessica Newton. SuperKIDS was represented by Board Members, Chris Holtz and Michele Kristofco. Mr. Holtz presented Miss Newton with a certificate and her $1000 scholarship award. Miss Newton has overcome a difficult and challenging childhood and has focused her attention and efforts on excelling in school. Miss Newton is an exceptional student who has been accepted to Widener University where she will begin her studies in Nursing this fall. Miss Newton’s goal is to obtain her degree in Nursing and to support young women through the birthing process. She would like to be the kind of nurse that leaves a positive impression on all those with whom she has contact. Miss Newton is a dedicated, committed student who is very deserving of this scholarship award. Her commitment to education and her desire to give back to others in her career exemplifies the type of young person that the Tom Ward Scholarship was designed to support. The Tom Ward Scholarship was established by the Board of Directors of SuperKIDS of Montgomery County, Inc. to assist a young adult known to the Montgomery County Office of Children & Youth who has attained a high school diploma or GED and who is pursuing personal growth through post-secondary training, education, college, vocational school, or similar program.
