Dom Care is a housing program for adults (ages 18 and older). Provides care management for consumers. Consumers who meet the criteria are matched with private homeowners and renters throughout the county. Adults who are independently mobile or semi-mobile, but cannot live independently, may be matches with families who are willing to open their hearts and provide a warm and caring home filled with love, support and encouragement. Dom Care providers care for no more than three people, and are able to give individual attention and provide support and encouragement in a family setting. Dom Care is a supervised living arrangement in a home-like environment for adults who are unable to live alone because of age-related impairments or physical, mental or visual disabilities.
This type of program is appropriate for consumers age 18 and older, who are unable to live independently and who need assistance with activities of daily living. Domiciliary care home programs are regulated by each state. In general, these homes are smaller than traditional personal care homes and often the Dom Care home is the individual provider’s home. They are inspected annually to insure health and safety standards are met.
Consumers are adults 18 years of age and older who cannot live independently at the current time. Dom Care consumers must be found clinically eligible for the program, which means they have some difficulty performing activities of daily living. Consumers include individuals who have a physical disability, a mental health or mental retardation diagnosis, or are frail. Dom Care consumers must be SSI eligible or enough income to pay monthly rate privately.
