In this program, children live with a family where the parents have been specifically trained to understand and manage the child’s serious emotional and behavioral problems. Treatment within a family setting allows the child to live within the community. The goal is to work with the child’s biological/adoptive family in order for the child to return home if at all possible. The length of stay in a Therapeutic Foster Family is determined by continuing medical necessity and is reviewed every four months.
