Light Bulbs

  • Incandescent Filament Light Bulbs and Halogen light bulbs – dispose of as trash
  • Fluorescent lamps and bulbs – All fluorescent lamps contain small amounts of mercury and should be recycled.
    • Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs) – These curly tube bulbs are accepted at drop boxes inside Home Depot, Lowes and Ikea stores for free recycling.  
    • Fluorescent tubes – Residents can bring tubes to any household hazardous waste event. Businesses must make arrangements for disposal. See below for a list of local vendors:
