10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Approximately 30 people showed up to learn how to create a rain garden and discover how rain gardens can be used to clean rainwater and create wildlife habitat at our September 27 event. This family-oriented event offered information that is useful to all county residents as well as municipal employees interested in installing a rain garden in their community. Two short presentations on rain gardens and how to select and plant the appropriate plants were shown at 10:00 and 11:00, followed by an opportunity to participate in installing a rain garden at the park. Participants helped plant native plants that provide food and habitat for important insects and animals.
