Drug & Alcohol Planning Council
Membership
A minimum of an eleven member Drug & Alcohol Planning Council is appointed by the County Commissioners to serve for a period of three (3) years with varying lengths of terms (1 to 3 years) dependent upon the timing of appointment of each member.

Appointed Drug & Planning Council members should be representative of all regions of the County and need to fill one of the following categories as per the relevant mandates of the Pennsylvania Drug and Alcohol Abuse Control Act of 1972, Act 63 and Pennsylvania Code 4, Part XI, Chapter 254 pertaining to Single County Authorities:
  1. Criminal Justice
  2. Business or Industry
  3. Labor
  4. Education
  5. Medicine
  6. Psycho-Social Professional
  7. Student (under the age of 25 years of age)
  8. A person in Recovery
  9. Community member representative of the economically disadvantaged either by residence or employment
  10. A person aged 65 and over

Meetings
A minimum of eleven monthly meetings are held during the year.
Meetings are held at the Human Services Center, 1430 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA.
All meetings are held at Noon and are open to the public.
