About the PA Workwear Program
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania has established the PA Workwear (PAWW) program to ensure the economic independence of individuals who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) by providing professional attire for job interviews and specific clothing necessary for employment or training in lieu of a special allowance for clothing from the County Assistance Office (CAO) or Employment and Training (E&T) Contractor. The goal is to help empower these individuals transitioning from welfare to the workforce in style!
The PAWW sees clients on a referral basis. Only Department of Human Services (DHS) clients are eligible for a referral to PAWW if they have a need for clothing. The need for clothing is determined by the CAO or E&T Contractor.
If you are interested in making a donation, the PA WORKWEAR program is currently accepting the following donations ONLY:
Women’s business / business casual FALL/WINTER attire sizes 0-32
Unused body sprays, lotions, powders, deodorants, make-up, toiletries
Closed- toe professional women’s shoes - all sizes
Unused hair care products
Unused undergarments / hosiery
Unused dental hygiene products
Clothing store gift cards, varying increments
*All donations are tax-deductible.
In order to best serve the participants as they transition into self-sufficiency and build a strong sense of self-worth, we reserve the right to refuse donations that are not clean or otherwise appropriate.
