Keeping Kids Safe

Keeping Kids Safe
District Attorney Steele is deeply committed to keeping our kids safe. Every Office Division works closely with local, state and federal law enforcement officials, to ensure that children in Montgomery County are protected against all types of criminal activity - whether online, in school or at home. We actively support various initiatives, both public and private, directed toward the safety of children and young adults:

BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS OF SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA PARTNERSHIP
BULLYING and CYBER-BULLING MANUAL

CHILDRENS’ VIOLENCE PREVENTION ROUNDTABLE
INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN TASK FORCE ICAC)

MANDATED SCHOOL REPORTER TRAINING
MISSION KIDS CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER

MONTGOMERY CO. CHILD ADVOCACY PROGRAM (MCAP)

SCHOOL SAFETY COMMITTEE

YOUTH AID PANEL PROGRAM

In addition, we developed multi-media based training programs that help instruct both children and adults about important safety issues that impact them and the criminal justice system. These programs are generally presented by experienced Assistant District Attorneys and County Detectives throughout the year to schools and community groups, and include:

ALCOHOL ABUSE/UNDERAGE DRINKING
ANTI-VIOLENCE and BULLYING PREVENTION

INTERNET SAFETY: PRE-K and FIRST GRADE

JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM

TEEN SAFE DRIVING PROGRAMS
